CNN: “Everyone in America commits mortgage fraud!”

Really?

When you sign a mortgage, you confirm whether the property is your primary residence or a second home. The mortgage documents also state it’s illegal to claim a property as your primary residence if it isn’t. That doesn’t mean everyone is committing mortgage fraud.

The paper trail at the of federal fraud charges against New York Attorney General Letitia James over a home she bought can be revealed for the first time.

The Daily Mail has obtained the bombshell documents that show James herself described the Virginia house as an investment property in the financial disclosure in her ethics filing – and later claimed it as a second home in her mortgage application.
