Why is the pre-stock market green? Trump says Iran gave the U.S. “most” of the 15 demands it sent in negotiations. Which is obviously not true

BREAKING: President Trump is weighing a military operation to extract nearly 1,000 pounds of uranium from Iran, per WSJ.

Details include:

1. This is considered a “complex and risky” mission that would likely put American forces inside the country for days or longer

2. Trump believes this could help accomplish his central goal of preventing Iran from ever making a nuclear weapon

3. Trump has also encouraged his advisers to press Iran to agree to surrender the material as a condition for ending the war

4. The US and Iran have yet to engage in direct negotiations to end the war

Another sign of potential US ground operations in Iran.

Donald Trump is considering a military operation to extract almost 1,000 pounds of uranium from Iran, according to a report.

US officials told the Wall Street Journal that Mr Trump had not yet given the order as he was still weighing up the risk the operation poses to US troops.

The US president has urged his advisers to pressure Iran into surrendering their uranium as a condition for ending the war.

He also told the Financial Times he could “take the oil in Iran” and potentially seize the country’s vital fuel hub of Kharg Island.

Mr Trump said: “To be honest with you, my favourite thing is to take the oil in Iran but some stupid people back in the US say: ‘why are you doing that?’ But they’re stupid people.

“Maybe we take Kharg Island, maybe we don’t. We have a lot of options.”
