Russia launched one of its largest ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv, bombarding the Ukrainian capital for about five hours with roughly 40 Iskander-M and hypersonic Zircon missiles. Ukrainian officials said at least one person was killed and seven others were injured as strikes sparked fires, damaged homes, offices and a dormitory, and forced residents into shelters. Air defenses intercepted 18 missiles and more than 100 drones, but explosions were reported across the city, including damage to a metro station and a residential building where rescuers searched for survivors.
