Utah to require studying Bible in public schools…

Children in Utah schools will now have to study Bible passages referenced in America’s historical documents in their social studies classes.

The new bill, signed into law by Governor Spencer Cox last week, will require public schools to cover specific passages and label the Bible as a historical document.

The exact passages that students would be required to study have not yet been determined.

The Utah State Board of Education has until the 2028-2029 school year to make a decision.
