Trump has asked Congress to increase the defense budget for the next fiscal year to $1.01 trillion, the White House has officially announced.

The proposal includes:

– $163 billion in cuts to health care, child care, education, housing, research, clean energy, food banks, and more
– $1.01 trillion for defense and homeland security
