Seattle police have launched a manhunt for two BASE jumpers who leaped from the top of the 605-foot Space Needle Friday night.
The unidentified men, both in their late 20s, bought tickets, changed into gear in a restroom, scaled the glass wall of the observation deck, and parachuted to the ground. (Video: AI)
A witness on TikTok captured it:
“These guys literally sprinted out the bathrooms, scaled the walls, and jumped off the space needle while I’m enjoying my view of Seattle!!”
Police are still working to identify them. Given the taxpayer expense these stunts create and the unnecessary risk they place on rescue workers, serious jail time would send the right message.
