Rep. Thomas Massie Appears to Confirm Identity of the Jan 6th Pipe Bomber. Says FBI Director Kash Patel Needs to Make a Statement TODAY

Update: Shortly after the publication of this story, journalist Breanna Morello reported that a source told her the purported suspect named by Blaze Media was not, in fact, involved in the pipe bomb scandal. “This source tells me they know where she was at the time and they do not believe it’s her. The FBI may have another suspect they’re focused on in their investigation,” Morello reported (see here). This article and its headline have been updated accordingly, including by removing the name and description of the person identified by Blaze.

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The person who allegedly planted pipe bombs near the RNC and DNC headquarters ahead of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill protest is possibly a former Capitol Police officer who now works for the CIA, according to an unconfirmed and heavily disputed report from Blaze Media.

Blaze reported Saturday morning that it had a “veteran analyst” run the suspect through gait recognition software, which analyzes how someone walks. The software reportedly found that the suspect’s gait is a “94%-98% match” to that of a former Capitol Police officer. Several “current intelligence sources” reportedly confirmed the findings.

The Capitol Police, the Justice Department and FBI did not respond to Blaze News’s requests for comment. It’s unclear if the publication reached out to the former officer for comment. Blaze editor in chief Christopher Bedford said he was pulled over by local police after stopping to observe the former officer’s home Friday night. He was allowed to leave.
