The sad fact is, it would be cheaper, about 95% cheaper than now, to pay them benefits to stay in there own country!
It averages about 51k a year per migrant to keep here. An average wage in say Syria is £80 per month. Even a 2.5k per Yr benefits would be £208 per month, good money!
Of course, that’s a road we should never go down but man…. it would save us a shit load of money.
Even lower in African countries! Maybe some wise investing in helping the countries create industries that pay better and keep people wanting to stay etc, would be a much cheaper way of dealing with it?
