LA model charged in alleged dating app theft scheme

A Los Angeles model accused of meeting men online and burglarizing their homes is now facing several serious criminal charges.

Adva Lavie has been placed on home detention with an ankle monitor and pleaded not guilty in November.

According to online court records, she faces multiple charges, including burglary and extortion. Her next court date is set for January 14.

Detectives say Lavie used dating apps and developed friendships to rob, steal and extort wealthy older men and younger women. They say she posed as a girlfriend or travel companion, then stole cash, credit cards, and high-end designer items.
