The embassy posted the call to “proud compatriots” living in the UK on its official Telegram account in Farsi on April 15.

In it, they urge the Iranian diaspora to “surrender to killing rather than handing over the country to the enemy” and to add “another golden leaf to the book of honours”.

ehran’s embassy in London sparks major national security fears after urging Iranians living in the UK to ‘sacrifice their lives’ for the regime

The Iranian embassy posted on its official Telegram channel calling on “proud Iranian compatriots residing in Britain” to register for its “Jan Fada” or sacrificing life programme.

It invited “all brave and noble children of Iran” to come forward in a display of solidarity, loyalty and national zeal to defend Iranian land.

The message included the chilling verse “Let us all, to a man, give our bodies to be slain; for it is better than giving our country to the enemy.”

Whitehall officials have expressed serious concern and say they are now monitoring the situation extremely closely.

The post comes amid heightened tensions following recent Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.
