EU officials warn Musk of ‘illegal’ disinformation on X amid Israel-Hamas conflict

The EU implemented GDPR back in 2018 and that law allows them to fine any company anywhere in the world up to 10% of turnover for violations. That law also makes it clear that if all else fails in trying to apply the law to foreign jurisdictions (like the US) that their absolute last resort is to complain diplomatically to that country when they’re ignored.
