California, Oregon and Washington create West Coast Health Alliance to issue vaccine recommendations

California, Oregon and Washington announced a new West Coast Health Alliance on Wednesday

Saying the three states share a commitment to ensuring that public health recommendations are guided by safety, efficacy, transparency, access and trust, the alliance said it will start coordinating health guidelines by aligning immunization recommendations informed by respected national medical organizations

The health alliance announcement comes on the same day more than 1,000 current and former staff members of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released a letter calling for the resignation of Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

The governors said they condemned Kennedy’s removal of the CDC’s 17-member Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices

The alliance may promise safety and trust, but the real risk is that a single narrative will control medical decisions, shaping the lives of tens of millions without checks or accountability.
