A judge in Tazewell County just shut this whole thing down. Said the Democrat backed redistricting vote doesn’t even pass the constitution, so it’s out. The Yes vote from Tuesday, blocked. Can’t certify it. Democrats tried to pause that, judge said no.
He basically said the whole setup was off from the start, not just one small issue, the whole process.
Ken Cuccinelli came out right after, called it a big win for fair maps.
But this isn’t done. Democrats already moving to appeal, pushing it up to the Virginia Supreme Court as fast as they can. So yeah, this fight’s still alive.
UPDATE on referendum lawsuits: The Tazewell Circuit Court just ruled the referendum unconstitutional. The Judge entered an injunction blocking certification of the election & denied a motion to stay pending appeal. A final order will be entered once drafted, & it will be…
