Miami based Mount Sinai Medical Center is among the first health systems to now deploy AI Dr replicas.
Doctors at Mount Sinai are allowing the AI to talk to their patients, as if the AI is the actual doctor, in order to save them time.
I’ll leave the article in the comments.
What it’s basically saying is, the AI doesn’t just spit out a generic computer sounding answer. It deliberately imitates the doctor’s personal way of speaking and writing so that the patient believes they’re getting a direct, personal message from their doctor. The system is literally ghostwriting in the provider’s “voice.”
The hospital frames this as “preserving the human touch,” but in truth, it’s replacing a genuine human interaction with a very convincing replica. Patients aren’t told up front that an AI wrote most of what they’re reading, they just assume the doctor took the time to write it. That’s not a small tweak, this is the equivalent of a best friend sending you a heartfelt letter, only to find out later that a stranger drafted it and your friend just skimmed it before signing their name.
The slope is now way too slippery to be standing this close to the edges. If this seems insane to you, it’s only the tip of the iceberg.
God bless
