Sealed ballot envelopes from mail voters zoom through a high-speed scanning machine at a rate of 12 per second during Maricopa County’s presidential preference election on March 19, 2024. The ballot envelopes are initially scanned here using Runbeck’s machine, but the votes inside will be counted back at Maricopa County’s election headquarters.
