Vaasa police foil student’s school shooting plan
The suspect was taken into custody earlier this week after police received a tip-off about a video in which a 23-year-old woman talked about launching a violent attack on an educational institute.
Police in Finland’s west coast region of Ostrobothnia have detained a young woman on suspicion of planning to carry out a school shooting.
The 23-year-old student was taken into custody on Tuesday, police said, and appeared at a court hearing in Vaasa on Friday morning.
Information obtained from the suspect’s apparent Facebook account suggests that she is a student at the University of Vaasa.
