We gave the Lake Lure fire official who threatened a volunteer pilot with arrest nearly four days to respond to our interview request. Instead of responding, the Lake Lure town manager agreed to an interview and doubled-down on the arrest threat, claiming the volunteer rescuer failed to “coordinate” before rescuing people the town couldn’t get to.
