Ukraine strikes deep into Russia, Trump considers Tomahawks, Moscow is threatening the U.S. and phase zero of a wider war is underway

The fuse is already lit.

Ukraine is hitting deep into Russian energy targets with U.S. help. Tomahawk missiles are on the table. The Kremlin is not warning. It is threatening.

This is not brinkmanship. It is the start of a wider war. The public only sees pieces. The West is not creeping toward conflict. It is moving fast. Words of restraint are gone. Escalation is the rule.

President Trump confirmed on October 12 that he is thinking about sending Tomahawks to Ukraine. On Air Force One, he said:

“I may say that the Tomahawk is an incredible weapon, very offensive weapon. And honestly, Russia does not need that.” https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5552191-trump-threatens-missiles-ukraine/

He added that he had spoken with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Zelensky said Ukraine needs “long distance capabilities.” Trump said, “We’re working on it.” https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/5552191-trump-threatens-missiles-ukraine/

Tomahawks can strike targets over 1,000 miles away. That means Ukraine could hit deep inside Russia. Not just near the front lines, but important infrastructure in the Russian heartland. This is not defense. This is offense.

The Kremlin reacted fast. Russian lawmakers warned any Tomahawk shipment would bring retaliation. Not just on Ukraine, also on U.S. targets. Reuters reported Moscow said it would “shoot them down, bomb their sites, and retaliate against the U.S.” https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/russia-warns-us-over-ukraine-missile-shipments-2025-10-12/

Ukraine’s drones are hitting harder too. On October 6, they struck the Feodosia oil terminal in Crimea. It is the largest fuel storage in the region. The fire could be seen 30 kilometers away. Ukraine also hit Russian airfields and ammo depots. Kyiv’s message is clear: we can reach you. We will.

Putin has changed his tone. In Tajikistan, he called this phase “preliminary.” He said NATO is already crossing the threshold of war. Russian media calls it “phase zero” of a bigger fight.

“Phase zero of World War Three has already begun. The West is already at war with Russia — they just don’t admit it yet.” https://www.the-sun.com/news/15336313/putin-russia-phase-zero-war-nato-west/

Poland is getting ready too. Defense officials told the Wall Street Journal they are preparing for “escalation on our border.” They are running joint drills with U.S. forces. https://www.wsj.com/world/europe/as-russian-aggression-turns-west-poland-says-its-ready-328a0a13

The pattern is clear. Ukraine hits deeper. The U.S. thinks about heavier weapons. Russia threatens more. NATO braces. The media gives headlines that disappear by morning.

This is not a countdown. It is a chain of events. We are already several steps in.
