UK – The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill – children to be signed with single unique identifier

Tweet reads:

The Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill – in the Lords now.

They don’t care if the refuseniks rebel against Digital ID. They are coming for the children

What it does:
Creates a single unique identifier (SUI) er … ID for every child, used across safeguarding & welfare systems, shared beyond local government. (Probably via their NHS number so you can’t opt out)

Builds new registers & databases of children, parents, and education providers

Forces parents (inc home schooled) to hand detailed prescribed data to registers, and the government may require sensitive characteristics later by regulation, including religion.

Hands councils & the DfE new powers to collect, share & mandate disclosure of child-level data across agencies — and even across UK nations.

This isn’t about wellbeing. It’s about building infrastructure to track and catagorise every child from birth….

And then what will they ‘share’ ? trouble makers? ‘Dangerous’ views? Who knows.

“Children not in school registers, stronger powers for councils to make sure children are getting the right education, and a unique identifying number for every child are part of major reforms to help tackle the tragedy of children vanishing from education and protect young people from exploitation, grooming and abuse.” https://www.gov.uk/government/news/childrens-bill-to-keep-children-safe-from-exploitation
