Western nations are quietly preparing to put boots on the ground in Ukraine – but not to fight. The idea? Guard key infrastructure, train troops locally, and avoid combat zones at all costs.

UK-led training of Ukrainian forces, currently done on British soil, could shift into Ukraine itself – a move aimed more at optics and “guarantees” than real frontline support.
