Trump claims rapid Iran talks while Iran says zero contact and Rubio admits radio silence for six straight days

Trump claims a de-escalation, but the bombs in Lebanon say otherwise
The conflict is merely entering a more volatile, fragmented phase
Israel and Hezbollah are locked in a cycle that no diplomatic call can stop
The market is rallying on the news, but the underlying risk remains unchanged
Any “ceasefire” is a window for both sides to reload their munitions
Investors are being baited into a long position on a false sense of security

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this today (June 2, 2026) during testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

He stated Iran has mined large portions/segments of the Strait of Hormuz, fired on commercial ships, and that this is why the U.S. maintains a blockade on Iranian vessels only. He emphasized the strait must remain open without tolls or threats.

Similar points on Iranian mining were raised by Rubio in May as well.
