RUBIO STATES THAT IRAN HAS MINED EXTENSIVE AREAS OF THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ.
— First Squawk (@FirstSquawk) June 2, 2026
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this today (June 2, 2026) during testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
He stated Iran has mined large portions/segments of the Strait of Hormuz, fired on commercial ships, and that this is why the U.S. maintains a blockade on Iranian vessels only. He emphasized the strait must remain open without tolls or threats.
Similar points on Iranian mining were raised by Rubio in May as well.
Boom! Other than the fact Iran will never agree it is an AMAZING deal. https://t.co/v8oh4BHq9X
