General Wesley Clark revealed in a 2007 interview that, shortly after the September 11 attacks, he was shown a classified memo at the Pentagon outlining a plan to attack and overthrow the governments of seven countries within five years. According to Clark, the memo, attributed to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (then Donald Rumsfeld), listed the countries in this order: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran.
