The USS Alaska entered the Bay of Gibraltar under heavy escort on Sunday, May 10, and the U.S. Sixth Fleet made the rare public announcement yesterday.
Navy never publishes the location of its submarines unless there’s a strategic reason to do so. This morning, @CBSNews was made aware that a U.S. Navy ballistic missile submarine arrived in Gibraltar on May, 10, 2026. This seems to be strategic signaling to U.S. adversaries,…

A U.S. Navy Ballistic Missile Submarine Arrived in Gibraltar, May, 10, 2026.
NAPLES, Italy –
A U.S. Navy ballistic missile submarine arrived in Gibraltar, May, 10, 2026. The port visit demonstrates U.S. capability, flexibility, and continuing commitment to its NATO allies. Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines are undetectable launch platforms for submarine-launched ballistic missiles, providing the U.S. with its most survivable leg of the nuclear triad.

The USS Alaska (SSBN-732) carries 20 Trident II nuclear ballistic missiles, each with multiple warheads.
The notion that the US would nuke Iran, or any other of their adversaries, is crazy talk. https://t.co/qVC1fyKATI

The Pentagon is officially pulling the curtain back on its most lethal nuclear assets and it is clearly meant to intimidate Iran into a corner. When a boomer like the USS Alaska shows up in Gibraltar right as Trump is calling peace deals garbage you have to realize we are past the point of simple diplomacy. These submarines are built to be ghosts so the moment they surface for a photo op it means the military wants the enemy to know exactly where the hammer is going to fall from. By bypassing Spain and docking in British territory the U.S. is also telling its ‘allies’ that it will only work with those who are fully on board with the war effort. We are watching a nuclear chess move where the safety of the entire Mediterranean is being gambled to send a message to Tehran. If this isn’t a final warning before a massive escalation then the Navy has just wasted their best tactical advantage by giving away their position.
