The EV fire sale continues.

2024 Nissan Ariya Electric SUV Trim Prices Slashed by Thousands.

The 2023 Nissan Ariya electric SUV had a starting price of $44,555 for the Engage front-wheel-drive trim. During our review we found that price to too high for the straightforward driving experience and middling range that the EV was offering up. It looks like the automaker may have caught the hint as it announced pricing for the 2024 Nissan Ariya EV, and it is significantly cheaper than it was before.

Nissan announced that it is “enhancing” the 2024 Ariya with a starting price of $40,980 for the Engage front-wheel-drive trim. That’s $3,575 cheaper than the 2023 price tag, and it isn’t even the biggest cut. Most of the trims for 2024 are seeing a price cut of nearly $6,000 over the previous year. In a statement, Nissan said it made the price adjustment to “appeal to a wider audience of EV buyers,” as slashing prices often does.

“As the electric vehicle market continues to develop and grow, the revised pricing for the 2024 Ariya will improve the model’s competitiveness and ensure we are delivering maximum value to our customers,” said Trisha Jung, senior director, EV Strategy and Transformation, Nissan U.S. That’s corporate speak for “we figured out folks want more value for their money.”
