Thailand unveils first AI police

The Royal Thai Police has introduced the country’s first AI-powered police robot, debuting during the Songkran festival in Nakhon Pathom province. The robot, named “Pol Col Nakhonpathom Plod Phai,” meaning “Nakhon Pathom is safe,” was deployed at the Songkran celebrations. The AI police robot has been designed to bolster security and enhance situational awareness.

Dubbed “AI Police Cyborg 1.0,” the robot resembles a futuristic Robocop and is equipped with 360-degree smart AI cameras. It was developed collaboratively by the Provincial Police Region 7, the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police, and the Nakhon Pathom Municipality.

The AI Cyborg integrates live surveillance feeds from CCTV cameras and drones across the event area. Its advanced video analytics capabilities are linked directly to the province’s Command and Control Center, enabling real-time monitoring and rapid response.
