The Texas and Florida housing boom is turning into a nightmare. Inventory has tripled in just three years, and now these states account for 30% of all listings nationwide. But here’s the real problem—rushed construction, cut corners, and devastating health risks. Homes built between 2021 and 2024 are already showing serious structural issues, mold infestations, and failed inspections. One heartbreaking case? A homeowner suffered repeated miscarriages due to mold contamination. In a decade, buyers may refuse to touch homes from this era. A crisis is unfolding.
This is wild.
The majority of the housing issues are in TX and FL.
Inventories in both states are up 300% in 3 years.

I looked at a new-build community near me and learned an insurance company had recently sued the builder because so many homeowners opened claims over their brand new homes being built poorly.
I also saw they have 1 star reviews by homeowners across 3 states.
Oh by the way…
