Six people shot at Chick-fil-A in New Jersey.

Authorities in Union Township are investigating a mass shooting that unfolded at a busy restaurant Saturday evening, leaving at least one person dead and multiple others injured.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. at a Chick-fil-A location along Route 22, where a barrage of gunfire erupted inside or near the crowded establishment.

The sudden violence caused panic as dozens of patrons scrambled to safety.

Responding officers quickly secured the scene and located multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officials confirmed that at least six people were shot during the incident. One victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the others were transported to nearby hospitals.
