Scientists Destroy 99% of Cancer Cells in Lab Using Vibrating Molecules

Researchers from Rice University, Texas A&M, and the University of Texas have developed a groundbreaking method to destroy cancer cells using “molecular jackhammers.” These are tiny molecules that vibrate intensely when activated by near-infrared light, causing cancer cell membranes to rupture.

In lab tests, this technique wiped out 99% of human melanoma cells. Even in mice with melanoma tumors, half of them became cancer-free after treatment. It’s an exciting development, though more research is needed to ensure it’s safe and effective for humans.
