Remote job postings jump 28% in a month, workers push back on commuting costs

New LinkedIn data shows a 28 percent increase in remote work job postings in the last 30 days.
Companies in tech and finance are loosening hybrid requirements to attract talent.
This reverses a trend from earlier this year toward more office returns.

On-site roles slipped 1.2%. Hybrid grew 5.7%. The headline this month is Remote, up 28%, which is the biggest single-month gain I’ve recorded in this report. Remote listings are now up 16% over six months and 27% year-over-year, suggesting flexible work is reasserting itself after April’s reset.
