Police suggest leaving car keys outside to prevent confrontations during thefts.

Sharing is Caring!

This is utterly absurd and a gross dereliction of duty on the part of the Toronto Police. Advising homeowners to essentially facilitate theft by leaving their car fobs outside is not just reckless, it’s downright irresponsible. Instead of tackling the root cause of the problem – rampant car theft in the city – they’re essentially telling residents to surrender to criminals.

It’s baffling to think that law enforcement’s solution to a rising crime wave is to encourage victims to make it easier for thieves. This misguided advice not only fails to address the underlying issue but also puts law-abiding citizens at further risk. By promoting this nonsensical approach, the Toronto Police are failing in their duty to protect and serve the community.

Furthermore, suggesting that individuals prioritize the safety of their possessions over their own lives is deeply troubling. While nobody wants to be confronted by a thief in their home, encouraging people to simply surrender their property without putting up a fight sets a dangerous precedent.

Toronto residents deserve better than this from their police force. It’s high time for law enforcement to come up with effective strategies to combat crime, rather than resorting to misguided and potentially harmful advice.
