Poland Must Prepare Military For Full-Scale Conflict, Army Chief Says

Poland’s Army Chief of Staff, General Wieslaw Kukula, has emphasized the need to prepare the country’s forces for a full-scale conflict rather than an asymmetric-type conflict. The situation has arisen due to deteriorating relations with Russia and Belarus since Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Poland plans to increase its troop presence along the eastern border, with additional rearguard forces ready to step up within 48 hours. The country has also ramped up defense spending in response to the regional tensions.
