Current medical science calls glycine “non-essential” because our body can make it. At this moment, I think about 12 amino acids are said to be non-essential.
But modern science is not a set, fixed body of unshakeable knowledge, and Dr. Alan Jackson from Southampton University says there are in fact only 3 really “non-essential” amino acids, meaning you don’t need to get those through your food.
Glycine is the OLDEST amino acid, it’s almost 4 billion years old. It came first in all of our evolution on earth and it’s the smallest one, think about how foundational it is.
