“Seeing the +1,500% stock price appreciation of a pre-revenue company named $OKLO, I decided to do a quick due diligence.
1. Went to finviz to see if insiders are selling. They are.
2. Caroline Cochran (now married DeWitte) caught my eye in the list of insiders selling as she was the only woman on the list. Turns out she’s the co-founder and COO.
3. Caroline cares deeply about environment and health, and has a master’s degree from MIT in nuclear engineering.
4. Went to Google Scholar and could not find a single research paper on nuclear energy by her. I searched for both Caroline Cochran and Caroline DeWitte.
5. Noticed on LinkedIn that she changed her last name recently to husband’s.
6. Her husband is Jacob DeWitte, who is the CEO and co-founder of Oklo.
7. Jacob got his PhD from MIT in nuclear engineering.
8. Google Scholar showed a few research papers authored by Jacob, from the times he was a student, but nothing recent.
9. Both Caroline and Jacob have no work experience in nuclear engineering other than studying at MIT and founding Oklo in 2013.
I don’t know much about nuclear engineering, but my gut feeling is that a husband and wife, with no proven research track record or work cited by academia will not be able to bring to reality any of the promises Oklo is making to its investors at the moment.
It seems to me that Oklo is to advanced nuclear technology, the same as Nikola was to hydrogen powered trucks. Basically a quick-money-grab-SPAC-short-squeeze scheme.
Due to everything mentioned above, Doc and I decided to massively increase our short positions on $OKLO and wait for this hype story to fall apart.
Thank you.”
