Nasdaq will file with the SEC Monday to extend weekday trading to 23 hours

Invevsting.com — Nasdaq Inc (NASDAQ:NDAQ), home to tech titans like NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA), Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL), Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), Alphabet Inc Class A (NASDAQ:GOOGL) and Amazon.com Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN), is planning to submit formal paperwork with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Monday to launch near round-the-clock trading of U.S. stocks, according to a report from Reuters.

The move marks Nasdaq’s first formal step toward establishing 23-hour, five-day-a-week trading and comes as major exchanges vie to capitalize on surging global investor demand for U.S. equities. The U.S. stock market accounts for nearly two-thirds of the total market value of listed companies globally, and foreign holdings of U.S. stocks reached $17 trillion last year, data compiled by Nasdaq shows, according to Reuters.
