DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – A lawsuit claims that a Dothan hotel fired its night auditor after he showed up to a work-related meeting with pink nails, wearing braids and clad in capris.
The suit filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) claims that “D.A.” lost his job in 2022 because of his appearance at the meeting held outside his normal working hours.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court, indicated at other times while employed at the Home2Suites by Hilton, “D.A.” identified as a man.
Following an investigation, the EEOC concluded that there was a reasonable belief that the alleged discrimination took place, as stated in the lawsuit.
