Dozens of Minnesota-based firms have publicly expressed their concerns with federal immigration enforcement activities following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti in Minneapolis.
On Sunday, Minnesota’s Chamber of Commerce released an open letter signed by more than 60 businesses and CEOs warning that the actions of federal immigration agents had sown “widespread disruption” in the state and led to the “tragic loss of life.”
“We are calling for an immediate deescalation of tensions and for state, local and federal officials to work together to find real solutions,” the letter read.
Newsweek has contacted the White House, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Minnesota’s Chamber of Commerce for comment.
