It will genuinely surprise me if this survives appeals at all once it gets beyond New York’s courts. It wasn’t even really a trial; the judge made a summary judgement and declared this absurdity by fiat.
It’s being pointed out that bonds this big really just don’t exist and expecting anybody no matter how wealthy to come up with that much liquid cash in that short of a time frame is absurd. This whole thing is a damned farce.
More importantly why wait until now? Why are all of these court cases happening right before an election? It’s almost as if they’re doing it on purpose.
