Sky News host Caleb Bond has called out the leftist media in the US for “shifting the blame” onto former president Donald Trump over inflammatory rhetoric.
This comes after a suspected second assassination attempt on the Republican presidential candidate in just two months sparked fierce criticism over the Democrats and the media’s anti-Trump rhetoric.
“You’d think, after last time, that the media would be smart enough to tone down the anti-Trump rhetoric – the bloke nearly got shot again,” Mr Bond said.
“But no; the leftist media in the US, in this case MSNBC, was saying it was Trump who needed to tone down the rhetoric.
“I mean, they’re effectively victim blaming. He came within 400 metres of a lunatic hidden in the bushes with an assault rifle, and it’s apparently his job to calm things down.”
