LeBron James came through with an often-repeated but important PSA: Don’t believe everything you read on the internet.
The three-time All-Star MVP dropped the reminder during a recent appearance on Complex’s 360 With Speedy, where he set the record straight on his financial status.
“You’ve been getting money for a long time,” host Speedy Morman said, to which James replied, “And I got more to get, you know?”
Speedy informed James that “a quick Google search” showed he had a net worth of $1.2 billion, which was slightly less than what Forbes currently has listed. The Los Angeles Lakers star immediately pushed back, insisting the reported figure was in significantly off.
“Now y’all want me to start lying?” James asked. “Google search is a lie… It’s wrong. It’s less. It’s way less… It’s a couple thousand in my bank. I got a couple thousand. That’s it.”

“I am free for me. Everything I got on is free.”
