Italy wants to introduce 6 months of compulsory conscription for all 18-26 year olds, both men and women

Italy currently has a compulsory military service system, but the specifics vary based on age and gender. Here are the details:

Age Range: The compulsory service applies to individuals aged 18 to 27.
Service Obligation:
- Conscripts: Males are required to serve for 12 to 18 months, depending on their academic qualifications.
- Alternative Service: For those who choose not to serve in the military, alternative service lasts 24 to 36 months, also based on academic qualifications.
Cadets: 17-year-olds are eligible to become cadets at military higher education institutes, where they are classified as military personnel ¹.

I think it is very clear the direction in which Europe is going. They can’t wait to send a few thousand young people to Ukraine.
