Israeli and Qatari negotiators just shook hands in Cairo after Gaza deal, first time in years. Trump to fly to Middle East

HISTORIC HANDSHAKE: ISRAELI AND QATARI NEGOTIATORS CELEBRATE GAZA DEAL IN EGYPT

Rare scenes of celebration in Egypt as Qatar’s PM Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani was photographed shaking hands with Israeli negotiator Ret. Maj. Gen. Nitzan Alon, signaling a breakthrough in ceasefire talks.

Happy faces and hugs were seen among negotiators as reports suggest Israel and Hamas have reached agreement on the ceasefire and hostage deal.

The handshake between Qatari and Israeli officials is particularly significant given Qatar’s role as Hamas’s primary mediator and the typically tense relations between the countries.

The deal is expected to be formally signed Thursday at noon Cairo time (5 AM Eastern), with the first phase requiring release of all 48 hostages within 72 hours.

Trump confirmed he may travel to Egypt this weekend following his Walter Reed checkup Friday.
