When asked whether the Chinese government would consider evacuating its citizens from Syria, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated on Monday that China has noted the change of security situation in Syria. The Chinese embassy in Syria has issued the security alert, is closely following the evolving security situation in Syria and urging the local government to take effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and institutions.

The U.S. has launched airstrikes against Iranian-backed militias in Syria, including Iraqi forces, causing significant casualties and the destruction of critical military equipment.

China has voiced its support for Syria and has been actively engaged in reconstruction efforts. However, there is no verified evidence that China has provided direct military aid to Assad’s forces in response to these recent developments.
