Iran does not trust Steve Witkoff or Jared Kushner, wants to negotiate with J.D. Vance

Iran wants to negotiate with Vance, not Witkoff or Kushner

Tehran passed word through back-channels that it doesn’t trust Witkoff or Kushner.

Can you blame them?

These were the two guys sitting across the table from Iranian diplomats in Geneva days before the war started, shaking hands and talking peace while the U.S. and Israel quietly moved strike assets into position.

Iran walked out of those talks and into a bombing campaign.

That kind of betrayal doesn’t get forgotten.

Vance is different in their eyes.

The vice president who was described as “less enthusiastic” about the war is now the person the enemy specifically wants at the table.

Iran sees what everyone else sees: Vance built his career opposing exactly this kind of conflict, and that makes him the most credible American to deliver a deal both sides can live with.

Trump says everyone on his team is involved.

But Iran just told him which card to play, and it happens to be the one that signals Washington is serious about ending this rather than running the same playbook that got them bombed last time.
