If You are Shopping Amazon Deals on Cyber Monday – Be aware

Sharing is Caring!

by DelusionsOfGranduer

There is another thread on here about Target and Walmart scamming shoppers.

This one is about Amazon and how to prove it. Sellers inflate the price and then mark it down. Seems simple enough, but don’t get duped by these “typical list price” scams.

There is an App you can download and use for free called: Keepa. You can look at items on Amazon through the app, and underneath the price it will show a graph of the prices throughout the items history or the week.

I will show an example. I was looking at a neuropathy foot massager to get my Dad for Christmas. Here is the graph where the seller inflated the price to $99 then dropped it by nearly half the amount in the same day. The typical price is not $99.

Amazon Cyber Monday Scam

I suggest you use the app for any Amazon purchases you are considering moving forward to see if you are really getting a deal. I found out about the app on a sellers forum where a fulfillment seller was complaining that they used to get excited about Black Friday deals but they no longer do because they “know what’s really going on”. Sellers mentioned the app so other people don’t get duped by their own practices.

Find the product on Amazon. Look at the product with Keepa to see if it’s really a deal or fixed pricing.

I hope someone can pin this thread for others to avoid being scammed and thinking they just scored a great price.
