House passes SAVE Act (requires proof of citizenship to vote)

Jul. 10—WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, to protect U.S. elections:

“The integrity of our election system is at risk due to lax voter registration laws and President Biden’s wide-open border that has allowed nearly 10 million illegal aliens into this country. The SAVE Act ensures that only American citizens can vote in the U.S. by requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration while empowering states to clean up their voter rolls. If you can’t provide documentation that you are an American citizen, you should not be able to vote — period.”
