GROCERY PRICES HIT ALL TIME HIGH, TRUMP APPROVAL RATING HITS ALL TIME LOW

Basic food costs have jumped another 12% since January, making this the most expensive year to eat in American history. The latest numbers have Trump at a brutal 29%, a clear sign that even his base is feeling the squeeze and getting fed up with the drama. Data shows that a standard bag of groceries that cost $65 in 2021 is now ringing up at over $110 at most major chains. Total US credit card debt has hit a terrifying $1.3 trillion as more families are forced to swipe for bread and butter just to get to payday.

Trump’s approval rating hits new second-term low

May 13Trump’s net approval rating dipped to -18.9, a record low for his second term, in Nate Silver’s Silver Bulletin polling average, following a string of surveys that show Americans have never been more negative about Trump’s job performance.

Trump has a 58.1% disapproval rating and 38.5% approval rating.

May 11Trump’s approval rating improved two points, to 36%, from the 34% record low it reached at the end of April in Reuters/Ipsos polling, while 63% said they disapprove of Trump’s job performance (the poll of 1,254 U.S. adults was conducted May 8-11 and has a margin of error of 3).

Trump’s weekly approval rating hasn’t risen above 36% since the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on Feb. 28, after previously hovering at around 40% since last summer.

Factcheck:  Yes, nominally true per latest BLS data (April 2026): the food-at-home CPI index rose 0.7% from March to a new record high of ~320.9 (1982-84=100 baseline). It’s up 2.9% YoY, with items like beef (+1.5% YoY) and fruits/veg (+6.1%) driving gains. Inflation pace is moderate vs. 2022 peaks, but the price level itself is the highest ever.

I’m at the store every week and I see the same thing, people staring at the price of a pack of chicken like they’re trying to solve a math problem. It’s a joke. The politicians in D.C. are arguing about things that don’t matter while the average person is getting absoluteley gutted at the register. You can’t tell people the economy is “strong” when they have to decide between putting gas in the car or buying a gallon of milk. It’s a total failure of the system and people have had enough.
