GOP blocks Trump cabinet picks with fake congressional sessions

NEW: GOP LEADERSHIP DOESN’T TRUST TRUMP TO FILL HIS OWN CABINET

House and Senate Republicans are running sham pro forma sessions, keeping Congress “in session” on paper so Trump can’t legally make recess appointments. That’s the only way a president can bypass the Senate and directly install people into hundreds of empty positions.

Why block him? Because the GOP establishment doesn’t trust him with the power to fill those seats. They’d rather leave critical agencies in the hands of unelected career bureaucrats than risk Trump installing loyalists they can’t control.

It’s the same tactic Democrats used against him in his first term, but now it’s his own party quietly handcuffing him. Empty chambers. Empty seats. And a clear message from Republican leadership: We don’t trust you.
