The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has recently faced significant staffing reductions. Over Presidents Day weekend, approximately 200 probationary employees were let go, and the agency is now working on further employee reductions. According to internal emails and interviews obtained by POLITICO’s E&E News, FEMA has been instructed to identify additional personnel cuts, particularly targeting those involved with climate change initiatives and equity-focused programs.
