Officers have taped off a large section of Cowgate and several surrounding streets after a huge police presence descended on the area at around 7.30pm on November 2
Edinburgh’s Cowgate has been locked down by police following a serious incident with forensic tents being erected at the scene.
Police say they are responding to a road traffic incident and have taped off the long stretch of road as well as several nearby streets after the alarm was raised at around 7.30pm.
Nearby pubs and clubs have been emptied by officers and events cancelled due to the nature of the incident.
