Dallas apartment complex ripped apart by massive gas explosion.

A two-story building in Oak Cliff near Bishop Arts District went up in a fireball yesterday afternoon after reports of a gas leak.

Dallas Fire-Rescue escalated to a 4-alarm response with nearly 100 firefighters battling the blaze and searching rubble.

At least two women and one child confirmed dead, four hospitalized, and up to 11 people still missing as recovery efforts dragged into the night.

Officials point to a possible contractor hitting a gas line with no foul play suspected so far.

Mayor Eric Johnson and others praised first responders working through the chaos in a tight-knit neighborhood.
